UI in SimCity is everything. The dashboard of the HUD extends into the world where the environments are part of the UI system, giving constant feedback to the player.
The SimCity UI has a layered design approach to really support contextual information and focused choices to the player.
With the sheer amount of information needing to be conveyed, a clean and neutral aesthetic was required, so the use of accent colors may be fully utilized for a clear visual language.
